Just one of my Valentines Day surprises. "A map of my heart." I drew a rough map of our house and some of the outside property. I made clues which lead to different locations where the next clue was hidden. At the end, you connect the dots and it draws a heart. My boyfriend loved it. (He loves maps...) Just a little something fun and creative.
Was hungry for a sweet. Wish I would have thought to take pictures of the homemade italian meatballs I made earlier! Anyway - was short on butter so I read you can add peanut butter to make these. Gave it a shot, sprinkled crushed peanut M&Ms on top. They are pretty tasty, but I'm going to stick to the original recipe next time!
OK - So I've been sick, deathly head cold scary coughy sick. As I returned to the office today as a result of using up all my sick days for the year (already), my brain was still in a fog. May I present, TAD #10, doodled water cup. I will make a real thing tomorrow. {for the record I do have a reusable BPA free plastic water container for my daily water consumption, it's by Nalgene and is really cool, but I forgot it today.}
This is "kinda a gator" made from polymer clay. I wanted him to be functional so I designed him as a ring holder.
Kinda made this one up as I went along, was a new stitch for me. Another afghan square down! Temporarily doubles as a blanket for Capone, who loves TAD. Was home sick today, look for posting 2 of 2!
Another afghan square! So I'm averaging one a week, ha ha. I feel inspired to make more this week because I bought some new fun yarn colors. This is a new pattern I learned today. It looked hard but was actually very simple. I'm not sure if I decreased properly as this square is a little crooked, but could just be a result of the diagonal stitch. Overall I am happy with it.
A bear named Richard Jr. and an Ice Cream Swirl Cone. Made from polymer clay. These are maybe big enough to hold some buttons, bits of string, or maybe my tiny stud earrings. Ya know, little treasures.
So I FINALLY got to taking down the Christmas stuff today, and decided to find a use for all those uneaten candy canes. To be honest, they didn't turn out very good. I didn't have any eggs, and the egg-less recipe I found online failed me. They were very stiff and not sweet or fluffy enough. I added some chocolate frosting in the end, and that helped save them, but they still kinda suck. I should never stray from my Better Homes cook book, it's even better then my classic Betty Crocker. Here is Capone not looking too thrilled in his doggy towel.
Made this little fellow out of some polymer clay which I had sitting around for ages. I didn't have exactly the colors I wanted but I made due. It is a very similar design to one I saw on vacation in Cozumel recently, only the center was some kind of nut! This should make up for my last two, less legit TADs! Finally I had some time to have fun. :-)
